Here you can find the details of upcoming Green Impact events. All members of the University of Sheffield community are welcome to attend. Green Impact teams will receive extra points for participating in events and even more points for bringing along a non-Green Impact guest!
Wed. 10th February, 12:00-13:30: Monitoring Impact workshop
This online event will be hosted by Celine Clark from SOS-UK, who will be presenting the importance of monitoring and evaluating impact in regards to Green Impact projects. In this session you’ll learn how to maximise the points available to you, and make the most of reporting your impact.
Mon. 2nd November – Fri. 18th December – Hedgehog Friendly Campus Lockdown Litter Pick Competition
The University’s Hedgehog Friendly Campus group have signed up to take part in the national litter pick competition. Contribute towards making Sheffield a cleaner and safer place, to help protect wildlife in your community.
Thurs. 19th November, 15:00-16:30: The University of Sheffield Sustainability Strategy Launch
Join the online launch event for the University’s new Sustainability Strategy. We’ll be joined by the VC as well as senior members of the Sustainability Delivery Group to look at the University’s commitments towards net zero. If you missed the event, you can find the recording here.
Mon. 13th January, 12:00-13:00: Behaviour Change and Motivating Others workshop
We’re delighted to have Rachel Soper from SOS-UK deliver an engaging workshop about Behaviour Change and how to motivate others with sustainability. This is a great opportunity to think about your workplace and how best to engage with and encourage others.
Tues. 17th Dec 2019, 11:00-14:00: Sustainable Festive Fayre
Get into the festive spirit with our Sustainable Festive Fayre! We’re working alongside DARE and local crafters to raise funds for the Desert Garden Appeal! There’s lots on offer, including a raffle, christmas jumper swap, a variety of craft stalls and a Desert Garden research table to find out more about the research taking place.
Fri. 15th Nov 2019, 12:30-13:30: Lunchtime Litter Pick
We’ll be splitting into different groups, each led by a leader, to cover more of the University campus. Check out the map for the different areas and start locations. Equipment provided, please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Hot choc will be provided post-event @ Krebs cafe.
Wed. 11th Sep 2019, 12:30 – 13:30: Lunchtime Litter pick *REARRANGED*
Help keep our local area clean and tidy, get some exercise and get to know colleagues from across the University. Our lunchtime litter pick will involve an hour circular walk from the University campus to pick litter in nearby residential streets. All picking equipment provided. Please wear footwear you can walk in and warm / waterproof clothing.
