The Corporate Affairs team share their Green New Year’s resolutions!
The SITraN team have pledged to build a log pile; introduce bat boxes around the SITraN site and to do more wildflower seed sewing. The SITraN Green Impact Project Assistant Chelsea plans to green her home by ensuring everyone is recycling and turning off the lights when they don’t need to be switched on
HR have resolved to start a pen recycling scheme; bring in their own lunches and recycle the waste and, to move towards sending contractual changes electronically.
The Green Impact team in Psychology have pledged to aim for a Silver award this year and to set the foundations to go for Gold in 2016!
New Spring House are committing to Meat Free Monday’s and swapping their favourite veggie recipes; the vegetarian in the team is going dairy free for half a week! Green Impact team member Laura will be cycling to work every day with a bike bought through the University’s work cycle scheme and promoting the cycling scheme during team meetings. Another team member will be walking to work and encouraging others to do the same by offering a walking buddy – it’s hoped the commitment will encourage people not to drive in!
The Green Impact team in Materials Science and Engineering plan to raise awareness of different travel options for staff; increase biodiversity by renovating the rooftop garden, planting seeds and maintaining the space as well as raising awareness of how to cater for visitors in a green way by monitoring events and cutting waste
