Fairtrade fortnight 2015 falls between 24th Feb-8th March with the focus this year on the core commodities of cocoa, sugar and tea.
At SITraN we plan to do a ‘Fairtrade bake off’ on the Wednesday of the second week (4th March).
We encourage staff to take the time to bake their ‘delectables’ using core Fairtrade ingredients, which we will sell at a coffee morning on the 4th.
This will not only highlight the Fairtrade mark, but all the proceeds will be sent as a one off donation to the Fairtrade Foundation in London.
The staff and students at SITraN have a long history of cake baking and hold a ‘cake Friday’ coffee morning every week which recognised Fairtrade fortnight last year by having cakes baked with Fairtrade products.
