We are currently looking for Green Impact Project Assistants to help run the scheme. Project Assistants are student volunteers that are responsible for supporting, motivating and assisting staff teams as they work through the online workbook of green initiatives and projects. By becoming a Project Assistant you’ll be able to make a worthwhile difference whilst also developing valuable skills in project management, team development, leadership and communication. The teams have got loads of creative and ambitious projects planned for the coming year.
What does it involve?
The position is voluntary and lasts from mid-October until early April next year when the workbook is submitted. Four hours per month are required for the role. Places are limited and interest for this role is usually really high. It is a long term commitment and you will become an integral part of the team, so please consider this carefully before signing up
What do I get out of it?
You can gain HEAR accreditation for taking part and will be in the running for Project Assistant of the Year at our annual awards ceremony. What’s more, volunteers will benefit from tailored IEMA approved training sessions delivered by the NUS and receive continued support from the Sustainability Projects Assistant based at the University.
What do I need to do next?
Training for the role will take place on Tuesday 9th October. There will be two sessions (10.00 to 13.00 or 14.00 to 17.00) and you must attend one of these in order to become a Project Assistant. A free lunch will be available for all participants.
